Every great mission starts with someone who refused to ignore a problem.
For Tiffany, dogs have never been “just pets.” They are family members, loyal companions, and often a source of unconditional love during life’s most difficult moments.
Through years of community involvement, relationship building, and working alongside families navigating major life transitions, Tiffany repeatedly saw a heartbreaking reality:
Many people plan for their finances, healthcare, and loved ones, but far too few have a plan for their pets.
That realization eventually became Misty Jo Dogwatch.
Tiffany has spent years building relationships throughout the Blue Springs and Kansas City communities.
Whether working alongside local businesses, nonprofit organizations, families, or community leaders, her passion has always been the same: helping people find solutions and connecting them with the resources they need.
Through her work with Lighthouse Legal and her involvement in estate planning conversations, she became increasingly aware of an issue that rarely gets discussed.
Families spend considerable time planning for children, finances, healthcare decisions, and end-of-life wishes. Yet many never consider what will happen to the pets who depend on them every day.
For Tiffany, that realization was impossible to ignore.
What began as concern eventually became a mission.
Tiffany recognized that countless dogs face uncertain futures when their owners become ill, move into assisted living, enter memory care, or pass away.
Senior dogs are particularly vulnerable. Many end up surrendered to shelters through no fault of their own.
Others face difficult transitions after spending years as beloved family companions.
Rather than simply raising awareness, Tiffany wanted to create an organization dedicated to education, advocacy, planning, and support.
Misty Jo Dogwatch was created to help ensure that no dog is forgotten when life changes unexpectedly.
That belief is the thread behind every part of Misty Jo Dogwatch: education, advocacy, planning resources, foster support, and community partnerships.
At Misty Jo Dogwatch, we believe that every dog deserves the security of knowing they will always be loved, protected, and cared for, especially when life takes an unexpected turn.
We provide advocacy, education, planning resources, and support for dogs whose futures become uncertain due to changes in their owner’s circumstances.
Our goal is not only to protect pets, but to provide peace of mind for the people who love them.
Pets are family. Every family deserves a plan. No dog should ever be left behind simply because life changed unexpectedly.
We envision a world where no dog faces uncertainty because of an owner’s illness, incapacity, or passing.
Through education, planning, and compassionate advocacy, we strive to ensure every beloved companion has a safe future and every family has peace of mind.
“Estate planning isn’t just about protecting people – it’s about protecting every member of our family, including our pets.”
Every pet deserves love, dignity, and security.
A simple plan today can change a dog's future.
Senior dogs still have years of love to give.
